How can I install the Oracle JDK 8 on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS?

Hey there,

You'll need to go to Oracle's JDK 8 Downloads page and sign in with an Oracle account before you can download the Linux x64 Compressed Archive.
It looks like Oracle has an install guide that may be able to help you get started.

I'm going to try and get this setup myself and try to spot any hiccups you may run into and I'll be sure to let you know what I find.

I have to second the emotion about OpenJDK. Oracle Java comes with ALL KINDS of restrictions. Also, the current version of OJDK is 11 so you won't be stuck with Oracle Java 8 due to it's significantly less licensing restrictions.
