How to setup RoundCube email client to my email server

Hi guys, new to linode - I tried to setup my email server (to send and receive email for my contact form(s) in my website) - I can now send and receive email properly - use terminal to send and receive though.

I wanted to install RoundCube email client that will fit for this setup. I followed the steps on this link to setup my email server:
https://www.linode.com/docs/email/postfix/email-with-postfix-dovecot-and-mariadb-on-centos-7/

If you can point me to the correct direction on how I can setup RoundCube email client, that would be awesome.

PS: I followed this tutorial from a different site: https://www.linuxbabe.com/redhat/install-roundcube-webmail-centos-8-rhel-8-apache-nginx
but I can't get it to login to the registered email addresses from the linode link I provided above.

Thanks and Stay Safe!

Hi @JamesC! The first thing I'd recommend checking is making sure there's no differences in the guide between CentOS 7 and CentOS 8. The guide you mentioned on setting up Postfix/Dovecot is for CentOS 7, while the Roundcube guide is for CentOS 8. I don't think there's any big differences that would stand in the way, but it's a good place to look if it's not working as you expect.

Other than that, the most likely scenario is that Roundcube isn't able to communicate with the database already in use by Postfix and Dovecot. I'd recommend checking the database settings to make sure Roundcube is able to view it with the appropriate level of access.

Did you receive any error messages when trying to access the email addresses? If you post them here that may help narrow down the problem. In addition, I'd recommend checking any logs you have available for Roundcube to see if they shed more light on the situation.
