Can't make a new linode

I encountered errors when I used my old linode and so I decided to create a new one, but some errors came up in which I cannot finish making one. Ex: failed to fetch, unable to fetch some archives. This errors only came up when the update was done.

Sharing specific error messages help identifying the issues you're dealing with.

Because you mentioned "failed to fetch", could it be that your distribution has reached its End Of Life date? This would mean that the package repo's for that release has been archived. The following post provides steps to troubleshoot this:

I have errors when running apt-get update in Deb 7

If you're not working with Debian, here are some links to documentation regarding mirrors for some other popular distributions:

Since you mentioned deleting the old Linode, I would recommend deploying a new Linode using the saved image, which will ensure that you don't lose the data on that while you resolve whatever issues you're seeing. Images created from deleted Linodes do get permanently deleted after some time.

I'm using Ubuntu 19.04 - when I try to put in a command, at first it seems working, until I get the errors.

Ex.

E: Failed to fetch http://mirrors.linode.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/x/xfce4-netlo]

Err: 127 http://mirrors.linode.com/ubuntu disco/main amd64 libc-dev-bin amd64 2.2

Ubuntu 19.04 reached its End of Life in January of this year, so you'll need to either upgrade to 19.10 (which reaches its EOL date later this year) or update your mirrors.

The only available LTS (Long Term Support) Ubuntu release that's currently available is 18.04, though 20.04 LTS is slated to be released later this week. I would recommend switching to a LTS version of Ubuntu to avoid hitting frequent EOL days and needing to constantly update like this.

If you're interested, they currently have a beta version of 20.04 available here: https://releases.ubuntu.com/20.04/. If you're interested in checking this out, you'll need to follow the steps in the following guide to use an upstream kernel:
