Why doesn't my Linode's label show the current OS that's installed after updating?

I recently upgraded my Linode's OS, and the label in the Cloud Manager still shows the previous version. Why doesn't it update?

That label is created when you first deploy the Linode, and is based on the version you choose at deployment. The Cloud Manager isn't able to see into your Linode to see when/if that changes, so the label will always show the original version, rather than the current. You can, however, update the label from the Linode's Dashboard to reflect the current version by clicking on the pencil next to your Linode's current label.

You can change your Linode's label from the Cloud Manager by clicking on your Linode, then hovering the mouse cursor over its name at the top of the next page and clicking the pencil that shows up next to it.
