Unable to use DENIC or .de domains with Linode DNS Manager?

Linode Staff

I'm trying to update my registrar to point to Linode's name servers (ns1.linode.com, ns2.linode.com, ns3.linode.com). My registrar gave me the following error: "Their nameservers failed to meet Denic's requirements."

You might be told from your registrar or DENIC themselves that you're unable to use Linode name servers for your domain, due to Linode not complying with DENIC guidelines, which is untrue. A simple fix that seems to have worked is to update your registrar with all five Linode name servers. For reference, see the list below:

ns1.linode.com
ns2.linode.com
ns3.linode.com
ns4.linode.com
ns5.linode.com

To verify this fix still works, you can use the tool below from DENIC's site to verify your domain will work with all five of the name servers listed above.
