Is the IP address for my linode fixed?

Hi,
I'm a raw newbie. I was wondering if the IP address for my linode is static? Or is there a xxx.linode.com url that I can use to access the linode when it's running?

Looking up in the docs, it appears that the IP is fixed.
RTFM is always a great thing to do before posting a question!
