Bandwidth authenticity

There can be a number of reasons for varying download speeds, such as a long distance between the download location and your Linode, high latency, or a problems somewhere along the route the connection is taking to your Linode. I'd recommend running an MTR report to check the connection's route. We have a guide on using MTR reports to diagnose connection problems that may help.

If you'd like to try out a different data center to see if you get a better connection, you can set up a migration for your Linode to a different data center from within the Cloud Manager.
