Based on that error message it sounds like your account hasn't been fully activated yet. If you're still seeing this message, or if you haven't been able to successfully create an account yet, my recommendation would be to email us at support@linode.com (including the email address you used to signup with and the last six digits of the payment card used) so we can take a closer look at your specific account.
