What is credit giving with coupon code?

This is an excellent question! You can think of account credit as money for your Linode account. When you receive a new invoice, your account credit is automatically applied to that invoice, and your payment card would only be charged after the credit is depleted. Account credit never expires, so you don't need to worry about using it on time. :)
