Can existing folder capacity be increased by additional volumes

Great question, you could approach this in one of two ways. The first and possibly simplest solution would be to resize your Linode Plan to a high tier. This will increase all of your Linode's resources including storage capacity. Links to all of our plans and our resize guide can be found below.

Another option would be to attach an additional Volume to your Linode using our Block Storage Add-on Service. Your Linode would treat this similar to a flash drive or external HDD, making this space available to the entire system.
Afterwards, you can transfer the contents of the existing folder to the attached Volume and create a symbolic link to replace it. This symlink can be given the same name and directory path as the existing folder to avoid disrupting any scripts or automated process you might have. Any data directed to the symlink would be redirected to your attached Volume seamlessly. I've included some guides below to get you started.
