How do I reset MariaDB root password for a LEMP stack Ubuntu 19.4

It is a LEMP stack on Ubuntu 19.4. I Googled and followed many similar hints of resetting MariaDB root password. Many times and carefully. So far, none works. Any hints appreciated. Thanks.

Hey @sinclair, you'll be able to find the steps on how to reset the MariaDB root password within our How to Set Up MariaDB on Debian 9 guide. While this guide is for Debian 9, the commands should work with your distribution. I successfully tested this by spinning up a Linode with Ubuntu 19.04, installing MariaDB, and following the steps outlined in the guide to reset the root password.
