How can I receive alerts when my server crashes?

Hey - I'm using many servers right now and in the future I will use more. But the problem is sometimes the server may crash or the Chrome browser in the server crashes. And when this happens I want to get an alert. Do you have some suggestions on this?

When Chrome or server crashes the traffic of the server should be really low, I think.

I'm using win7 on all the servers

Since running a Windows server on Linode is not supported on our platform, we don’t have anything formal in place to trigger alerts. I did some digging on this, though, and came across the below thread which mentions some open source and other free tools for accomplishing what you'd like to do:
