deploy image

If I deploy an image does it wipe out all data on the server?
I know if I "rebuild" it will. But I need a fresh install while
keeping the data on the server and I was wondering if "deploy image" will do that for me?

You can deploy another Linode (server) which wouldn’t effect your current server.

Edit: Just don’t delete your current server or as you mentioned, rebuild it until you’ve transferred over your data or whatnot.
