This is certainly a frustrating situation. If an attacker continues to to attack your IP address, it may be worth looking into DDoS protection. Cloudflare offers this protection.

Linode monitors for inbound DoS attacks. However, if one ever is occurring that we did not detect, feel free to report it to us. Below I will include a link to community post where it explains how to submit an abuse report.
