When will Tokyo 1 be closed?
I want to know the exact date.
I need to schedule a migration. Please tell me a specific date.

We don't have a set date yet, though we're targeting Q2 of this year, 2019. When the date becomes set, we'll be communicating with customers who have active services in Tokyo 1 to give them enough time to plan for the change.
If you think you want to get a jump of the rush, you can follow our guide written just for this. You can either migrate or clone your Linodes:
As with any migrations from one data center to another, you'll need to keep in mind:
- Your IP addresses will change.
- Your server will need to be turned off during the migration process.
- It can take 10-15 minutes per GB of data to complete the migration.
- Any existing backups for a Linode will be purged and will not be recoverable after you initiate the migration
- Attached block storage volumes will not be migrated with the Linode. The volume will be automatically detached from the Linode upon migration. (Though Block Storage is not available for Tokyo 1)
I wanted to follow up with this, as we now have a set date.
We will begin migrating Linodes from our Tokyo 1 data center on June 8th, 2019.
You should have received a Support ticket if you have any active services in Tokyo 1.
If you have any questions related to how this would affect your Linodes and NodeBalancers, please feel free to update the ticket we sent, or open a new Support ticket.
