Connecting Two Linodes to Block Storage

Am I correct in understanding I can only connect a block storage to one linode at a time?

If so, am I equally correct that I can accomplish this by running a "nanode" i.e. the cheapest Linode and connect the block storage volume to it and then access the block storage by NFS-mounting the nanode in the two linodes I originally wanted to give access to the block storage?

If so, why do you make it so complicated to accomplish something I would think a lot of people setting up redundancy in their system like to do from the start i.e. be able to have a block storage as filesystem that one or many application servers can access?

I mean, this way I have to keep a nanode around just acting relay between Block Storage and the other linodes that want to access the block storage. I'm probably missing something here so please do enlighten me.

Thanks.

You're not missing something, it's not a feature of block storage at this time. Fortunately, you can easily set it up yourself.

OK. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer. Appreciated.
