Point my domain to a Linode

Linode Staff

I purchased this Domain Today and configured it to use Linode's nameservers. How to I connect the domain to my Linode?

To connect your domain to your Linode, you will need to create a record in our system, which points your domain to your Linode's IP address. Our guide on using the Linode DNS Manager covers how to add records to your domain. You'll want to choose to add an A/AAAA record, and point it to your Linode's IP address. (A=IPv4, AAAA=IPv6 - the system will automatically detect which type to create when you enter the address). You can use IPv4, IPv6, or both.

It's worth noting that while DNS propagation typically happens within 15-60 minutes, it is not entirely unusual for as long as 24-48 hours to pass as the records propagate. GoDaddy and NameCheap both have great articles explaining why this can happen.
