If I use a Linode for a short period of time, how much will I be charged?

Good question! If you've only used a Linode for a couple hours, you would only be charged for the amount of time the Linode was on your account. So in your case, you should only be charged whatever the hourly rate is for the plan Linode you chose. I'd be happy to clarify this a bit more so you have a better understanding of how our billing works.

We charge hourly for any services rendered up to its monthly cap. The monthly cap is the price that can be seen on our Pricing page. If you were to use the Linode for the entire month, you'd be billed the monthly cap amount for that service. If you only use the Linode for a couple hours or part of the month, you'd be charged the hourly rate for that service.
