How do I find my files?

Linode Staff

Hi,
I've been hired to help update websites on this account.
I can't find where the files for getscs.com are located on the server.
I know this is the main domain but I am not familiar with where linode stores those files.

Can you please point me in the right direction?

getscs.com is not hosted with Linode. Also, why are you accepting a job if you're not capable of performing it?

Hey there,

As an unmanaged infrastructure provider without access to your files or configuration, we’re very limited in how much support we can offer navigating a Linode's filesystem for user created files.

We do have some extremely thorough and helpful articles on powerful resources for locating files - Find and Grep:

https://www.linode.com/docs/tools-reference/tools/find-files-in-linux-using-the-command-line/

https://www.linode.com/docs/tools-reference/tools/how-to-grep-for-text-in-files/

These two tools are generally sufficient for locating folders and directories by name or creation date. If you need more detailed information regarding your filesystem, you're able to determine the type of filesystem as well:

https://www.tecmint.com/find-linux-filesystem-type/

I hope this helps move things further along in your search.

Sincerely,
