some newer kernels fail

This is not a problem I need solved at the moment, just information.
I try out new kernel versions from time to time, and in the case of my Linode, I observed this:

4.15.18-x86_64-linode107 works and is what I use;

4.16.11-x86_64-linode108 fails because the network interfaces do not come up;

4.17.2-x86_64-linode109 also fails that way, and produces this message in the host job queue:

This isn't a KVM kernel! Fix your configuration profile. Linode Configuration Profile problems detected.

For what it's worth.

Thanks for letting us know. We've been looking into this and haven't been able to replicate the error with 4.17.2-x86_64-linode109 on our end. Could you open a ticket, at your convenience, so we can take a closer look at the specific setup and configuration profile on your Linode?
