New node ssh problems

I just set up my node yesterday (Linode 64, Debian 3.1, Latest 2.6 Series kernel), and now when I try to ssh in, I get the following:

$ssh root@70.85.16.129
Connection closed by 70.85.16.129
$

I have my root pass set up, and LISH works great. I tried restarting sshd, but it didn't help.

What could be wrong? Any advice?

Try rerunning it with the -v and post the output here.

Followup: apparently Debian's ssh doesn't like password authentication. I set up my authorized_keys, and now it works fine.

You need to "mv /lib/tls /lib/tls-disabled" as noted on any of the 2.6 kernel annoucements. This is the reason they marked experimental.
