protocol smtp 590

I take it you mean response code 590? Well it isn't in RFC 821 or 2821, so I have no clue why you're seeing it.

mail server is inside of a qos box and gateway router outside.

i block smtp on the router but i still see this smtp 590 to my mail server on the qos.
