Can't set up static IP

Just set up a linode (debian) and wanted to change from DHCP to the static IP. Ifconfig -a looks good. Can ping my own addr, the gateway,

but not the nameservers. From the outside, the company-assigned

name resolves to the IP, but can't be pinged. Any help appreciated…

Thx,

Lord

Resolved by gentlefolk over IRC – turns out you need to set

broadcast mask different from default (last octet 255). Maybe

worth mentioning in some FAQ…
