Traffic between linode servers

I have a linode with 128Mb RAM, but as my web site has pretty high volume of visits, I'm thinking in setting a separate linode server just for the database and leave the web server separate.

How is the traffic between linodes accounted? Will that still "eat up" from the 38Gb limit, altough it never would reach the internet gateway?

According to the below thread it is not counted in the same DC.

Just be sure to ask Chris for a Linode in the same DC as your current one (which if your currently in The Planet, that shouldn't be a problem).
