Thank You for not answering my support ticket. You might as well erase it.

I regret that I didn't respond to your ticket sooner, but please keep in mind that Linode support is limited to the functionality of the host servers, the network, and features specific to Linode. Linode.com does not provide support for the configuration of your Linode.

Options for acquiring answers include these forums, the IRC chat channel, or Google. A simple google search would have returned the answer you were looking for.

Look into using "screen". I believe that's what you're after.

Regards,

you can also ssh into your hostbox ( hostxx.linode.com your nuber where the xx is) this can be found on the hostsummery tab

this is a direct connect into the box your linode is hosted on.

several people use this instead of ssh into the linode itself.

this is just like sitting at the box itself…it is very cool.

if you have any other questions please use the forum instead of getting huffy.

I am very sorry. I didn't intend to sound huffy. I am going to get away from gentoo on my linode. I run gentoo and mandrake at home.

Thanks

Chip

It's all ok with me, I know setting up a new box can be rather hard on the old nerves.

One of the best qualities of Linode is the community of people who are willing to serve their fellow man. Or is that to serve man? :-)

Don't worry about sticking to that same distro you know switch it up some ask questions and HAVE FUN :-)

Hope your days are few with server crashes.
