Linode DNS

The primary Linode name server responds in 70 seconds and the Linode VPS responds in 300+ seconds. Why is this so? :shock:

My Linode VPS is in the Newark DC and the the nameserver is in San Fransisco.

Do you have anything running on your Linode?
What were you using to ping the Linode and the nameserver?
