Nginx low worker connections

Hi, I have a Linode 8192 and when I run the command ulimit -n I get 1024 the same that I had when I had a smaller Linode.

Should be higher that number?

If I run grep ^processor /proc/cpuinfo | wc -l I get 4 processors.

How can I improve it? I'm expecting a high traffic.
