Which plan should I choose

I have a web: kangaroo-math.vn. A web for online math education.

Next month, we are going to take an online competition. There will be around 1000-1500 user at once. They will login about 5 minutes before the beginning time and load the exam question (about 1 MB) and then finish the exam after about 1 hour.

The exam only take in one day, then I want to come back to a normal host in order to cut the cost, because the number of active users is really small.

Which plan should I choose.

Thank you.

I would suggest starting with the smallest plan and setting up your environment. You can then perform load testing to see whether it will handle the number of connections you expect. It is simple to upgrade to a larger plan if one is needed. You can then downgrade again to the smallest plan until shortly before exam day.

Note that resizing a Linode takes a few minutes to perhaps over an hour, so this is not something you should attempt in the middle of the exam. Plan your activity by testing first, and upgrade a couple days before the exam. You can downgrade again after the exam is over.

@Vance:

Thank Vance. I would try that plan.
