Upgrading to 16.04 with MariaDB

I have MariaDB installed on an instance of mine that's currently running 14.04. When attempting to upgrade to 16.04.1 I get a message stating that MariaDB and galera-3 are unauthenticated.

Is it possible to upgrade to 16.04 with MariaDB still installed or would I have to take a db dump, uninstall MariaDB, upgrade then re-install MDB or would I need to migrate over to MySQL to do this?

When upgrading major distro releases, it's recommend to fully redeploy. Backup your entire DB, redeploy fresh, and then restore the data (along with any other data you need as well) for your database.

Valid point. I'll schedule that in. Thanks.
