Bandwidth limit

If we hit our bandwidth limit does it automatically suspend our server?

Yeah, I was surprised to see comments looking a lot like the above in my blog. So far, a simple IP block has solved the problem.

These look like traditional blog spam - where the poster tries to influence the search engine ranking of a site by putting lots of links to his site in blog comments for the spiders to find - but the links all seem to point to non-existent hosts at a dubious looking 'free' hosting provider. Presumably these are either ham-fisted attempts at search engine manipulation by people who have already had their accounts terminated (that was quick - less then twelve hours after posting) or an attempt to pump up the inbound link count for freevat.com / beplaced.com - but to what end?
