Server Backup to Google Drive is Blocked?

Hi everyone,

I have a Wordpress site set up on my Linode, which uses a plugin called Updraft Plus to automatically backup everything to Google Drive.

However, while the plugin indicates that the authentication with Google Drive works, it is unable to upload the files to there. I think the problem might be with firewall rules: that I have to whitelist something to allow it access.

Does anyone have an idea about what to do here?

And perhaps you have a better way of backing-up the whole server configuration, not just Wordpress?

Thanks,

Ilan

Well the Linode Backup Service backs up the entire filesystem: https://www.linode.com/backups

If you have a DB, which if you're running WordPress you do, then you will want to do a DB dump first to the disk before Linode's backup runs.

As far as the Google Drive plugin, I've never used it. I would check to see how it makes the connection to backup, and then make sure the ports for that particular protocol are being blocked on your Linode.

Hi,

Why don't you try reinstalling Upgrade Plus plugin?
