Reverse DNS not working?

I set up my Linode a cople of days ago. The DNS changes seem to have propgated throughout the internet, but I can't get reverse DNS to work for me. Whenever I try to use one of my reversed hosts on an IRC server I get the IP as my host and reverse lookup of an IP does not yield the address. Any hints?

(What it probably is: I didn't set up the hosts on my Debian install – does this need to be done? What file do I edit to do it?)

  • Debian 3.0r1

  • DNS through GoDaddy

  • Reverse nameservers set up in the Linode members area.

  • I have an A entry for every IP address that matches one of my IP's.

Thanks!

If your IPs are in the 64.62.231 range, give it another 24 hours or so. HE just set up slaving off my DNS servers.

Thanks,

Ah, that would probably be it then… thanks!

Ok, they've pulled the zone. It should be working :)

Works fine now, thanks for the update!
